#10 Fang Michaelis Phantomhive

My first art doll trade!! With the fun and kind FangTheDemon . Had a lot of challenges with this doll, had to learn for the first time how to make yarn wefts, poseable wings, and stripes in fur. Extremely relieved she came out great, since I had some bad bumps in the road. My first try at dying got messed up, the dye bled into areas it was not supposed to be, and those pieces of fur were now unsuitable to use. I tried to take a shortcut by carefully parting and dying sections of a large piece of fur-instead of cutting individual pieces for each color and sewing them together later. So then I had to scrounge up all my remaining pieces of white fur, re-cut the pattern, making many more seams in places I really didn't want to. But in the end it came out alright! I also had to cut the fur in a really strange way to get the stripes on her side to have the correct shape, I won't be doing that again. lol I will be getting an airbrush to do stripes in the future. I never imagined how difficult it would be to sew on fur around wings... had to be extremely careful not to crush the feathers against myself or anything else nearby. Then I had to add in the mane down the center as well.... but I got it done! It'll be a while before I make another doll with wings, haha. I did really enjoy making the yarn wefts for the mane and bangs, I definitely want to add that to more dolls in the future.
